TERRAMARE Kick-off Meeting

Two projects, two approaches, one shared question. How should Europe use its land and sea?

TERRAMARE, our sister Horizon Europe project, kicks off in Lisbon on 2 and 3 September 2026, hosted by Instituto Superior Técnico. On day one, Project Manager Berien Elbersen will present BALANSED to the TERRAMARE consortium.

Then the work gets going. First up is LOTUS, the tool TERRAMARE will build to weigh up the competing demands on land and sea. Then the groundwork. Which stakeholders to bring in. Which models to draw on. Where its case studies could take place.

Land and sea shouldn’t be planned apart. Neither should the projects working on them.
